Ecomuseum of Rye

The rye museum, located in the splendid setting of the Maritime Alps Natural Park, is one of the stages of the ecomuseum itinerary that documents the local community's relationship with rye, a fundamental cereal for the local economy, an important source of livelihood in the past. The exhibition itinerary shows the visitor the various uses of the cereal in the local and extra-local areas. The ecomuseum was created to document the harsh living conditions of the mountain population dedicated to agriculture, both from an environmental point of view and from

the productive one. The recovery of some houses and their rye roofs in the villages of Tetti Bartona and Tetti Bariau has allowed the extension of the excursion ring relating to the ecomuseum and is functional to the reconstruction of these spaces of representations of moments of everyday life. The central core of the ecomuseum is in the town of Sant'Anna, where various initiatives are planned related to the recovery of local culture and tradition and to the theme of rye.
